FAQ
What does Kuki mean?
The name is inspired by the Kukeri dancers of Bulgaria that ward off evil spirits.
Which schematic is Kuki based on?
Despite Kuki is a combination of popular schematics, there is no specific pedal we try to mimick. It has its own tonal character.
What is the gain structure of the pedal?
The pedal has 2 gain stages.
The first one is a clean with a very soft break up and a low pass filter. This stage is similar to an overdrive pedal set with minimum gain. This stage is used for the Clean Enhancment and the Lead boost Functions. What does Lead Boost do is to increase the gain of the stage when angaged.
The second stage is a classic diode clipping distortion and is placed after the first stage. It is activated or deactivated by the Drive Footswitch.
Is it possible to use Kuki as a booster?
Kuki is designed to have maximum headroom and works awesome especially when supplied with 18 Volts. Roll the gain knobs back and you have the perfect clean boost with tone control. Having 2 separate Level controls allow you to have 2 different boost levels.
